Faith

Faith

In Gospel's tale of hope,
An official's plea did cope.
"Come down," he begged, his child near death,
But Jesus spoke a different breath.

"Go home, your son will live," He said,
A paradox, the man's faith fed.
Contrary paths, desires and fate,
Yet God's purpose, never too late.

In surrender, trust took hold,
As plans abandoned, miracles unfold.
God's decisions, often a mystery,
But always aimed for our victory.

When darkness shrouds and hope seems lost,
Look up to God, no matter the cost.
In despair, let faith arise,
For with God, hope never dies.

A father's hope, a son made whole,
Not by touch, but words extol.
Faith, the bridge to healing's shore,
In God's promise, forevermore.

Fulfilment

Fulfilment

In Matthew's verse, a message clear,

Jesus' words, a truth sincere.

Not to abolish, but fulfill,

Old Testament's purpose still.

Love your God, love your neighbor too,

Commandments old, in Him renew.

In Emmaus' tale, Luke unveils,

Scriptures' truths, as Christ details.

Paul echoes, Corinthians know,

Old promises find in Jesus' glow.

Prophets' voices, long foretold,

In Christ's life, their tales unfold.

Birth, mission, death, foretold of old,

In Jesus, prophecies take hold.

Synagogue's moment, Nazareth's voice,

Fulfillment proclaimed, hearts rejoice.

Remember Lord

Remember Lord

In paths of grace, I find my way,

Your mercy, Lord, a guiding ray.

In truth, I walk, in love, I stay,

For You, my Savior, light my day.

Throughout my journey, long and wide,

In Your goodness, I confide.

Mercy echoes, a soothing tide,

Forgiveness in Your love resides.

Hope in You, a constant song,

All day, in You, I belong.

Mercy's memory, firm and strong,

In Your love, I am lifelong.

You, Lord, in goodness, always near,

Wiping away the stains of fear.

In humility, Your path is clear,

Teaching the poor, drawing them near.

Remember your mercy, Lord,

A refrain, in heart and word.

In Your love, my soul's restored,

Guided by grace, forever adored.

Mercy of God

In fiery trials, Azariah prayed,

Humbled, he sought God's mercy displayed.

For your name's sake, O Lord, his plea,

Keep your covenant, in trust, let us be.

Mercy for Abraham, Isaac, Israel's line,

Offspring promised, a love divine.

Sins brought low a nation in despair,

No prince, no prophet, offerings rare.

Contrite hearts seek to repent,

No grand sacrifices, just humble intent.

Wholehearted followers, trust in thee,

No shame for those in faith to agree.

With fear and prayers, voices rise,

Kindness and mercy, their heartfelt cries.

O Lord, in wonders, deliver profound,

Let glory be yours, let your name resound.

How many times should I forgive??

How Many Times Should I Forgive??

In realms where grace and mercy blend,

A tale of forgiveness, where hearts transcend.

No maths within forgiveness, divine decree,

As Peter inquired, how many times to set free?

Seventy times seven, Jesus declared,

A boundless grace, a love boldly shared.

No ledger tallies, no counting of wrongs,

For love's pure essence, in forgiveness belongs.

A gift bestowed, a grace divine,

Forgiveness is a treasure that does entwine.

In the teachings of Christ, a demanding call,

To forgive as we're forgiven, an echo for all.

God's mercy, an endless, boundless sea,

Forgiving us, His love flowing free.

Imagine if limits on forgiveness were set,

A finite grace, a quota to be met.

Pope Francis echoes, "God's tireless grace,

We tire in seeking, in our remorseful chase."

In confession's realm, we seek God's embrace,

Yet outside its walls, do we mirror that grace?

A paradox unfolds in forgiveness's tale,

God's immense debt was erased, ours seeming frail.

Confession, a two-part sacred dance,

Receiving and imparting, love's true expanse.

Confession's echo, in Matthew's plea,

Forgive from the heart, set your brother free.

Two parts entwined, like a sacred art,

To receive and give, a connected heart.

Logic prevails in forgiveness's domain,

Seeking mercy for self, yet harbouring disdain?

Let forgiveness flow, in a harmonious accord,

In love's grand logic, be forgiven, be restored.

My Soul

My Soul

In shadows of longing, my soul does roam,

Thirsting for God, in a sacred poem.

Like a deer that yearns for streams so free,

My heart echoes, longing to see.

Send forth your light, O guiding truth,

To lead me to the mount of eternal youth.

In the sanctuary where your presence dwells,

My soul in awe, in worship, swells.

At the altar of joy, I'll render my praise,

Harmonizing gratitude in melodious ways.

Redeemer divine, with a heart full of grace,

My soul awaits to see your face.

Jesus In the Temple

Jesus In the Temple

  In Jerusalem's sacred space,
where Passover draws near,
Jesus enters the temple, his purpose crystal clear.
Oxen, sheep, and doves, a marketplace within,
Moneychangers' tables overturned, cleansing to begin.

With cords woven into a whip, he took a stand,
Driving out the merchants, with authority and command.
"Father's house, a marketplace, no more," he declared,
Zeal for divine sanctity, a fervor he bared.

Disciples, recalling Scripture, saw the zeal unfold,
As Jesus faced questions, his actions bold.
"What sign do you show?" the skeptical Jews inquired,
"Destroy this temple," Jesus spoke, his words inspired.

Forty-six years in construction, the temple stood,
Yet Jesus spoke of his body, misunderstood.
Raised from the dead, disciples found belief,
In Scripture and Jesus' words, a profound relief.

Passover witnessed signs, faith in his name,
Yet Jesus, discerning hearts, maintained a wary aim.
Human nature known, trust he would not lend,
For in his understanding, human flaws transcend.
